Please allow me to introduce myself

I’m Mark Suss, President of 2nd Opinion. That’s me on the left, or at least sort of me with my Jay Leno chin and grey to almost white hair. It’s amazing how many people tell me I look like him and start to laugh. I’m also constantly told how much I sound like him. My standard comeback line is “I’m funnier, he just makes more money.”(You’re supposed to laugh now! Go ahead, its okay. I want the laugh. It’s standard operating procedure.) Although I like to show my sense of humor which I feel is the fun part of being in business, this will have to conclude the humorous portion of what I have to say because this is a serious subject these days.

Anyway, I started an Executive Recruiting firm back in 1983 and then 10 years later, in 1993, opened 2nd Opinion, a Background Screening service, as a supplement to the recruiting business. Low and behold, here I am in 2008,

25 and 15 years later respectively, and I’m still in business, in both as a matter of fact. I would say this is a pretty good track record don’t you think? There aren’t many small companies, (large ones either for this matter) that can boast of so many years in business. I attribute this is to our customers recognizing the value of our service and because we are very good at what we do in general.

Today’s subject though is Background Screening. Now I know you have choices, lots of them in Background Screening to be certain and you know, as I do, how tough the business environment is these days. Your company is probably doing the same thing my company is doing which is Marketing 24/7 to insure the health of our business.

I know you are sitting there reading this and asking, why should I change the service I have been using if I am happy with the customer service and results? If this is the case then you shouldn’t change, at least not completely, until you are absolutely certain that we offer great service and value, but in order to make this determination, you need to make a leap of faith and at least try our service. Give us a few backgrounds to check and maybe, just maybe, you will like us better.
(I am assuming you are currently checking backgrounds on your employees. If not, wow, are you ever leaving yourself wide open for all kinds of problems.) My suggestion would be to jump on the bandwagon pronto!)
